Server Crash…New Design…New Job…Family…Tiger

Hi Everyone, it’s your busy as hell host, Bryan.

First, I want to offer some deep apologies to those who have visited Major Championships and have been disappointed by the lack of postings or the fact that the site didn’t work for some time. Long story short, the server my site was on crashed…again…and in a nutshell I had to move everything to a brand new server. Oh, and the archives are probably off now since I did not have the latest database backup, so my “recent” postings are not pulled into this design as the present time. Could the timing have been any better? Well, I started a brand new spanking new job working for an upcoming homerun hitting search engine around June 1st. I can’t say much about it except it’s going to revolutionize how people retrieve search results they want. This job has literally taken away any possible time from this site. How much time you ask? Oh, roughly 14 hours a day are the hours I am putting in…but it is well worth it! This search engine is going to be awesome and I am ectatic as hell to be a part of it.

Oh yea, as you can tell there is a new design up for Major Championships. I won’t lie, its not finished and unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time on my plate to fix several items, like the navigation in Safari looks goofy. This design strays away from the 800×600 users, but my intentions are to put a style switcher in so that if one wants less graphics and more text, along with a small width website, they will get that with the click of a button. However, I just don’t have the time to implement that. I had to step away from the format my old design had because it just wasn’t working with how it was intended. The idea behind this design was to give the site a face lift, as well organize the categories better and just make browsing a little easier. At least, that was my intent. You, the end user, may or may not like it. Contact Me and let me know.

With my new job and the long hours, I have been desperately getting in as much family time with my wife and son as possible. My son is now 7 months old and has been crawling for 1 month. It is absolutely amazing. Watching the little guy grow, learn, and gain the strength he does is just awesome! My wife does just an incredible job with him. I am so proud of both of them.

So Tiger Woods won the 2006 British Open playing exceptionally and surprisingly well. All with hitting driver 1 time! That is a great statistic to have. Given his performance at the U.S. Open as well as his father passing in May, I just never thought he would slam through with his first victory at the British Open. Then again, he IS Tiger Woods.

Watch out at the PGA, Tiger is on the move with a game he seems to be very confident with, so he is obviously the favorite at this time. However, he may need to pull out driver because pulling out an iron every hole at the PGA may be a tough task. However, I did hear he was hitting his driver well at the British Open during practice rounds, so maybe his game is FULLY coming around. Let’s wait and see.

There are things I still have to tweak with the site and hopefully if there are delays on my end, everyone will understand. Oh, and I haven’t played golf in 2 months because of all the happenings in my life :) yea…

I do plan on getting out for a round very soon, I have the club championship in a couple weeks to be mindful of.

~Bryan
