I honestly can’t tell you the last time a tournament, let alone a Major Championship has been suspended because of high winds. The winds today were gusting so hard golf balls were moving on the greens. I am not sure if its a local rule or not, but if the golf balls are unable to sit still on the green, the tournament can choose to suspend the round.
Scores have been going low, and it looks like Louis Oosthiuzen is sitting pretty at 12 under par with a large majority of the field still needing to deal with the high winds.
Once winds die down enough where the golf balls no longer move on the greens, play will resume.
