Jack Nicklaus delivered perhaps the most dominant Masters performance ever, setting a new scoring record of 271 (-17) and winning by nine shots. Arnold Palmer and Gary Player tied for second at -8. Bobby Jones said of Nicklaus, "He plays a game with which I am not familiar."
