The Masters
Runner-up: Greg Norman
Larry Mize, an Augusta native, holed a 140-foot chip shot on the second playoff hole (11th) to defeat Greg Norman and win the Masters. Seve Ballesteros had been eliminated on the first playoff hole. Norman, who had led the tournament, stood stunned as Mize's chip rattled into the cup in one of the most dramatic moments in golf history.
