Fred Couples won the Masters by two shots, benefiting from one of the great lucky breaks in Augusta history when his tee shot on the par-3 12th stopped on the steep bank above Rae's Creek instead of rolling in. Couples made par, birdied 13 and 15, and won his only major. Raymond Floyd finished second.
