Jock Hutchison, a Scottish-born American professional, won in a playoff against English amateur Roger Wethered. Wethered had accidentally kicked his ball in the third round, incurring a penalty stroke, which cost him the title. In the playoff Hutchison won convincingly. Hutchison holed the 8th hole in one in the third round.
