The Open Championship
Runner-up: Aubrey Boomer
Bobby Jones won his second Open Championship at St Andrews. Jones was so beloved at St Andrews that when he retired from competitive golf in 1930 the town made him an honorary citizen — only the second American ever given that honor (the other was Benjamin Franklin). Jones won by six strokes at his spiritual home.
