Bobby Jones won The Open Championship as part of his historic Grand Slam, winning all four major championships of 1930. Jones won by two strokes at Hoylake, playing the final round with the caution of a statesman protecting a lead. He would retire at the end of 1930 having won 13 majors as an amateur.
