The Open Championship
Runner-up: Harry Bradshaw
Bobby Locke won in a 36-hole playoff against Harry Bradshaw of Ireland. Bradshaw had controversially played his ball from inside a broken beer bottle in the second round rather than take relief, possibly costing him the title outright. Locke won the playoff 135-147. Locke's distinctive slow-walking style and hooked putting stroke were famous.
