Tom Weiskopf won his only major at Royal Troon, producing some of the finest ball-striking of any Open champion. Weiskopf beat Johnny Miller, Jack Nicklaus, and Neil Coles by three strokes. Weiskopf was considered one of the most talented players of his generation, though he won fewer majors than expected.
