Rory McIlroy won his second major of 2014 (having won the PGA Championship at Valhalla weeks later) in dominant fashion at Hoylake. McIlroy led by six entering the final round and shot a composed 71 to win by two strokes. McIlroy completed the career Grand Slam at age 25. Rickie Fowler and Sergio Garcia were runners-up.
