The Open Championship
Runner-up: Phil Mickelson
Henrik Stenson won The Open Championship in what many consider the greatest head-to-head duel in major history since the 1977 "Duel in the Sun." Stenson and Mickelson were paired together for the final two rounds, trading birdies. Stenson shot a final round 63 to win by three strokes. Stenson became the first Scandinavian to win a major championship. His 20-under total was a new Open record.
