Bobby Jones won the US Open as part of his legendary Grand Slam, winning all four major championships in 1930. Jones hit a famous "lily pad shot" on the ninth hole of the final round, his ball skipping across a pond. He won by two strokes over Macdonald Smith and retired from competitive golf later that year.
