Ben Hogan's comeback win, just 16 months after a near-fatal head-on collision with a bus that shattered his pelvis and legs. Hogan struggled to walk 18 holes but shot 69 in a final-round 36-hole playoff day. He defeated Lloyd Mangrum and George Fazio in the playoff. The 1-iron he hit to the final hole is one of golf's most iconic images.
