Fuzzy Zoeller defeated Greg Norman in an 18-hole playoff, 67-75. Norman had holed a dramatic 40-foot putt on the 72nd hole to force the playoff. Zoeller famously waved a white towel in mock surrender when he saw the putt go in. The playoff was not close as Zoeller was far superior on the day.
