Walter Hagen won his fourth PGA Championship, defeating Leo Diegel 5&3 in the 36-hole final. Hagen's four titles in five years (1921, 1924, 1925, 1926) established an unmatched run of dominance. Only the great Gene Sarazen had interrupted his reign in 1922-23.
