PGA Championship
Runner-up: Gene Sarazen
Tommy Armour, the "Silver Scot," won the PGA Championship by defeating Gene Sarazen 1-up in the 36-hole final. Armour had lost an eye in World War I and overcame that handicap to become one of the great players of his era. His instruction book "How to Play Your Best Golf All the Time" became a classic.
