PGA Championship
Runner-up: Sam Snead
Paul Runyan won his second PGA Championship in one of the most stunning upsets in major championship history, defeating the heavily favored Sam Snead 8&7 in the 36-hole final. Snead outdrove Runyan by 50 yards or more, but Runyan's incomparable short game was the difference. Runyan chipped and putted brilliantly to win by the largest margin in PGA final history.
