Nick Price won the first of his two PGA Championships at Bellerive, defeating Nick Faldo and John Cook by three shots. Price was at the beginning of his greatest stretch of golf, and his ball-striking was some of the best in the world. The Zimbabwean's win was a popular one among his fellow Tour professionals.
