Vijay Singh won the PGA Championship in a three-way sudden-death playoff over Chris DiMarco and Justin Leonard at Whistling Straits. Singh made birdie on the first playoff hole to claim his third and final major championship. The tournament is also remembered for John Daly's disqualification for removing stones from a bunker (treated as loose impediments by another player).
